Village Roro, Panchayat- Okra, Block-Torpa, Dist.-Khunti had 1436 population, having 746 male and 690 female, 147 household. Having 22 children between 0-3 and 43 children between 3-6 year. 12 Pregnant women and 17 lactic women.
Present situation there are no AWC and their village catchment & the other AWC is 3km far from the village. In that case the beneficiary had not able to reached for availing benefit from the AWC like Immunization, THR, Pre School etc. Either beneficiary went to private center for immunization or don’t get immunized on their schedule time. The situation was more pathetic and worrying as the unhealthy women and their children don’t purchased nutrient food for their good health due to poverty.
Work & its process:
In Roro village VHSNC members conduct their monthly meeting regularly and discuss on health, hygiene and nutrition and plan to demanding AWC for insuring health, hygiene and nutrition issue for the beneficiary on 3rd June 2016 and give responsibility to 5 person for survey and prepare the list of beneficiary. Survey done by responsible person in 10 days from the meeting date. VHSNC members again call a meeting and write an application for demanding AWC and submitted it to Ms. Purnima Sinha, CDPO, Torpa and also they decide a place for new AWC which is donated by a villager.
Achievements/ Model created:
On 14 June 2016 all VHSNC members went and meet with CDPO and also update with their present scenario of the village. They demand a new center in their village and gave their application in front of Ms Roushni Gudia Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti to CDPO, Torpa . It’s a mode of change which takes place after the intervention of “Good Governance” project supported by “WHH & EU” and implemented by LEADS.
