Perka is a tribal dominated village of Murhu block. There is a middle school in Perka village, with enrollment of 61 students. The awareness of SMC and parents on RTE and their roles & responsibilities has improved after training and workshops organized under the project. The School development plan is also prepared for 2018-19 with the joint participation of teachers, SMC and community.

During training and workshops with SMC members, the provisions of Hand washing unit under 14th finance commission fund was shared. In the SMC meeting at school, the members and teachers decided to demand for Hand washing unit for their school.This was also conveyed in the Gram Sabha meeting and the Panchayat Mukhiya, Wilson Purty was approached for allotment. The Mukhiya also took interest in school development and a Hand Washing Unit was soon sanctioned and constructed in the school premises. The school children of Perka village are happy now and the Balsansad is making sure that regular hand wash is practiced by every student of their school.
