Bhelwatanr Village is just 3 km away from Hutapin Chandwa Block in Latehar District . Due to lack of irrigation facilities in this village, earlier Nakul Singh was not doing any type of agriculture activitity. During regular meeting in the same village we interacted with Nakul Singh and he shared that there are a few days when he had to sleep hungry due to non -availability of food stuffs in his house. In fact it was very normal thing in that village. Only mono crop is not solving their problems, and they are very nervous to do any  farming. After

that the LEADS REER project staff invited him and also discussed about ours project objective and activity and where a model farming is there. We called him in our next training for Model Male Farmers on Farm and Non Farm Activities for Food Security and Income Generation. After that he participated and learned modern and scientific farming methods of pigeon pea. After the successful completion of training he was aware of modern and scientific farming methods of pigeon pea farming and he has started doing same in his own 50 decimal  land with organic pesticides and he got success. He also done inter cropping with the pigeon pea and by selling of maize  he earns Rs  15,000 rupees in winter season . Now his family is getting little support from his earning and eagerly looking forward for the cultivation of pigeon pea which is really good in his land.
